The St. Croix Collection of hand-selected luxury furnishings and textiles welcomes the Carolyn Rodney Home Collection to their La Cienega showroom with a trunk show and high tea, Bollywood style, on Thursday, May 10, and Friday, May 11.

A British-born designer known for her handmade jewelry worn on red carpets around the world, Rodney is introducing a new bespoke ensemble of intricately hand-beaded and embroidered textiles and pillows that she appropriately calls “jewelry for the home.”

Rodney’s finery, which is produced painstakingly by hand exclusively for her in Jaipur and Bangalore, India, has caught the attention of Hollywood, including Brooke Shields, Kate Moss, Charlize Theron and Tyra Banks.

St. Croix Collection, one of the newest design houses to open in the burgeoning La Cienega Design Quarter, is a boutique showroom specializing in custom furniture, couture drapery and window coverings including hand woven grass shades from Hartmann & Forbes. The showroom expresses the vision of Bernard St. Croix, who has taken the family business established in Santa Barbara in 1972 and has expanded it to two additional major markets—Honolulu and Los Angeles.

Showing a carefully curated selection of high-end home furnishings in the new La Cienega showroom, St. Croix’s mainstay is its exclusive and new-to-the-U.S. fabric offerings from around the world, including Germany, France, England, Austria, Belgium, and Canada. St. Croix also represents two well-known American fabric lines, Anya Larkin and Bengal House. However, Bernard St. Croix has expanded his representation to include leaders in the furniture industry—Roger Thomas, William Yeoward, Gustav Carroll and Edward Ferrell/Lewis Mittman.

Rodney, who divides her time between homes in Los Angeles and New York, first hit the celebrity circuit in 2009 with her intricate jewelry designs made with ancient Indian techniques incorporating precious gems in mosaic patterns. She recently began using the same detailed embroidery concepts in her textiles and pillows, some featuring elaborately beaded motifs. In her exquisite Kama Sutra pillow, for example, the hair of the female in the couple is braided and the necklace is made of tiny glass beads. The face of one of Carolyn’s pillows is entirely hand beaded, a marvel of white and black geometry.

St. Croix debuts the Carolyn Rodney Home Collection during the La Cienega Design Quarters Legends: Windows to the World extravaganza on Thursday, May 10, and Friday, May 11. Rodney’s trunk shows are from 4 to 6 p.m. “Chai” tea will be served with Indian sweets.
